Control your climate: Conserve energy by adjusting the thermostat two degrees colder in the winter and two degrees warmer in the summer, and also conserve energy by making sure your air filters are clean. You'll save money on your energy bill - not to mention 2000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions every year. Now that's conservation.
Don't waste the water: Stopping leaky faucets isn't the only thing you can do to go green and stop global warming. Conserve water by taking shorter showers, washing your clothes in cold water, investing in a low-flow shower head, or only running your dishwasher with a full load. Or conserve water by putting a water bottle filled with water or pennies in the tank of your toilet. It's a simple way to conserve one or two gallons of water per flush.
Look on the bright side: Stop global warming by making the energy switch from standard light bulbs to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. They conserve a lot more energy and last ten times longer than regular light bulbs. Plus, switching to compact flourescent light bulbs means every year you'll spare the atmosphere 150 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions.
